Healthy Eggnog

The holidays are the most challenging time of the year for sticking to healthy habits and weight control. With a little effort and ingenuity, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the holidays without completely throwing your healthy efforts to the wind.

The recipe below will not only satisfy your sweet tooth and put you in the holiday mood, it is “Nourishing”, low calorie, and contains protein to give you a feeling of fullness.

You can now enjoy eggnog this holiday season while staying on course  and without guilt.  And by all means, the bourbon is optional!

Eggnog Protein Shake

Unsweetened almond milk mixed with water (just enough to get it to blend and fluff up – you don’t want watery eggnog)

1 serving EPXbody NOURISH protein powder

About 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Pinch to 1/4 tsp of each: allspice, ground nutmeg, and clove

About 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

About 1/4 tsp. butter extract ( Molly McButter or butter buds)

About 1/4 tsp rum extract

Ice

Stevia to taste

Thickener: 1/4 tsp guar gum plus 1/8 tsp xanthan gum if desired
